Abstract
Introduction:
Monoclonal antibody is an antibody produced from a cell lineage made by cloning a unique white blood cell.
Aim:
The aim of the study is to give an account about monoclonal antibodies and their role in medicine.
Method:
This is a literature survey from publications and textbooks about monoclonal antibodies.
Results:
Showed that the vast majority of monoclonal antibodies are used for autoimmune diseases.
Conclusion:
We conclude that monoclonal antibodies solved many medical problems that may be resistant to conventional medicines, still they a have a potential role in medicine.
Recommendation:
It is recommended that monoclonal antibodies should be available in suitable prices and adequate amounts to medical practice especially in developing countries.
